Wheel Spinner
Put your own options on a wheel, tap Spin, and watch it land on one at random. Pick a name, a number, a letter, or just Yes or No — fair, fast, and free, with no sign-up. Your lists save in your browser, so they are still here next time.
What is a wheel spinner?
A wheel spinner is a digital prize wheel: you write your own options onto it, give it a spin, and it lands on one of them at random. It is the online replacement for drawing folded names out of a hat — except everyone can watch it happen, it is obviously fair, and you never lose a slip of paper. This wheel spinner runs entirely in your browser, takes no sign-up, and gives you a single, dramatic answer in a couple of seconds. Type your choices, tap Spin, and you are done.
How to use it
- Type or paste your options into the box, one per line (you can paste a column from a spreadsheet, or a comma-separated line).
- Tap the big Spin button — or press Space or Enter. The wheel spins and slows to a stop on one option.
- The winner pops up below the wheel and is announced for screen readers. Tap Copy result to grab it, or Spin again for another go.
- Need to draw several winners without repeats? Turn on Remove winner after spin and keep spinning — each winner is taken off the wheel.
- Use it again next week? Tap Save to keep the list in your browser. No account, no email — it is just there next time.
Four modes, one page
The same wheel does four jobs, and you switch between them instantly with the tabs at the top — no page reload:
- Custom — your own list of names, prizes, restaurants, or chores. This is the default.
- Yes / No — a two-option wheel for a quick decision when you just need a verdict.
- Number — pick a random number in a range you set (great for "who picks a number" or a quick raffle ticket).
- Letter — spin the alphabet, or a subset of it, for games and prompts.
We deliberately keep all four on this single page rather than splitting them into separate look-alike pages, because they share the exact same wheel — only the list of segments changes. One fast page is better for you and honest about what the tool actually is.
Why the spin is genuinely random
Most spinning-wheel sites quietly use a basic pseudo-random function. Ours uses the browser's Web Crypto generator with bias-free sampling, which means every option on the wheel has an exactly equal, unpredictable chance of winning. The winner is chosen first by that fair draw, and then the wheel is animated to land on it — the spinning you see is the show, not the decision. That distinction matters when you are pulling a real giveaway winner in front of an audience and want the draw to be provably fair, not just fun.
Save your wheels without an account
Tap Save and your list is stored on your own device using your browser's localStorage. There is no login, no cloud, and nothing leaves your computer or phone. You can keep several named wheels — one per class, team, or game night — and switch between them from the dropdown. Because the lists live only in your browser, clearing your browsing data clears them, which is also the privacy upside: we never see or store the names you enter.
Common use cases
- Classroom — cold-call a random student, pick groups, or choose who answers next. Project it on screen, spin with the keyboard, and the result is announced out loud for accessibility.
- Giveaways & raffles — draw a winner live on a stream or at an event, visibly fair. Turn on remove-after-spin to pull several winners without repeats.
- Everyday decisions — where to eat, who does the dishes, who goes first. For a quick two-way call, switch to Yes / No mode or use the dedicated Coin Flip tool.
- Games & icebreakers — spin for a letter, a number, or a random prompt to keep a game or class moving.
Why use this one
It is built to be the fastest, cleanest way to spin a wheel: mobile-first and single-handed, with a big thumb-reachable Spin button. It saves your lists without a login, it is provably fair via Web Crypto, and it is fully keyboard-operable with the result announced for screen readers. There are no popups, no interstitials, and the spin is never gated or interrupted — just one small ad below the tool. And it sits in a real cluster of random-decision tools, so a die roll, a number, or a coin flip is one click away.
Frequently asked questions
Is the wheel spinner free and do I need an account?
Yes, it is completely free and there is no sign-up. You can type your options and spin right away, and any wheels you save are stored in your own browser, not on our servers.
Is the spin really random?
Yes. The winner is chosen with your browser's Web Crypto generator using bias-free sampling, so every option on the wheel is exactly equally likely. The spinning animation simply shows you the result that was already drawn — the wheel cannot miss the chosen option.
Can I save my list of names for next time?
Yes. Tap Save and your list is kept in your browser using localStorage, with no login. You can keep several named wheels and switch between them. Clearing your browsing data clears your saved wheels.
Can I pick more than one winner without repeats?
Yes. Turn on Remove winner after spin and keep spinning. Each winner is taken off the wheel, so you can draw several names in a row without anyone being picked twice.
Can I spin a yes/no, a number, or a letter instead of names?
Yes. Use the tabs at the top to switch between Custom, Yes/No, Number, and Letter modes. They all share the same page and wheel, so switching is instant with no reload.
Do you store the names I enter?
No. Everything stays in your browser. Your options are never sent to a server, and saved wheels live only in this browser via localStorage.
