Birth Chart Calculator
Enter your birth date, exact time and place to get the computed, astronomically accurate part of a natal chart — every planet's sign and house, your Ascendant and Midheaven, and the major aspects — then copy the whole chart in one tap for ChatGPT or any AI. We calculate the sky and leave the reading to you. No sign-up; your birth data never leaves your browser.
What is the Birth Chart Calculator?
This birth chart calculator (also called a natal chart calculator) takes your birth date, exact birth time and birth place and computes the astronomically determined part of a natal chart: where every planet sat in the zodiac at the moment you were born, which house it falls in, your Ascendant (rising sign) and Midheaven, and the major angles — aspects — between the planets. It does one thing well: it computes the sky for a specific moment and place. It does not write a horoscope, predict your future or tell you what any placement "means." We calculate the sky and leave the reading to you — or to whatever AI you choose to paste the chart into.
In plain terms, a natal chart is a snapshot of the solar system as seen from your exact birthplace at your exact birth time. Astronomers describe that snapshot with hard numbers (longitudes, degrees, angles); astrologers then interpret it. This tool produces only the hard numbers.
Sun, Moon and Rising — what's the difference?
Most people know only their Sun sign, because that depends on the date alone (the Sun takes about a month to cross each sign). But a full chart has three "headline" points that often differ:
- Sun sign — the sign the Sun was in. Depends only on your birth date.
- Moon sign — the sign the Moon was in. The Moon moves fast (about half a degree per hour), so even within one day it can change sign; this is why the exact time helps.
- Rising sign / Ascendant — the sign that was climbing over the eastern horizon at your birth moment. The Ascendant cycles through all twelve signs roughly every 24 hours — about one sign every two hours — so it is the most time-sensitive of the three. Two people born on the same day in different hours, or in different cities, can have completely different rising signs.
The same logic extends to every other planet: the calculator reports the sign and house of Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto too.
Houses and aspects, briefly
Houses are twelve divisions of the sky, anchored to the Ascendant, that astrologers associate with areas of life. Because they are anchored to the Ascendant, they depend on your exact time and location — which is why an approximate birth time gives reliable planet signs but only approximate houses. This tool divides the houses using the Placidus system, the most widely used method in modern Western astrology.
Aspects are the angular relationships between two planets, measured in degrees. The major ones are conjunction (≈0°), sextile (≈60°), square (≈90°), trine (≈120°) and opposition (≈180°). The calculator lists each aspect with its exact orb — how far the angle is from being exact — so you can see which connections are tight and which are loose. Again, these are pure geometry: we report the angle, not its meaning.
Why you need an exact time and place
The Sun sign survives a fuzzy birth time, but the Ascendant, Midheaven and house placements do not. The Ascendant shifts roughly one degree every four minutes of clock time, and your latitude and longitude change how the zodiac rises over the horizon. So:
- Date only → reliable planet signs, but no trustworthy Ascendant or houses.
- Date + exact time + place → the full, accurate chart.
If you do not know your exact birth time, you can still use the tool — just treat the rising sign and houses as estimates.
How to use it
- Enter your birth date.
- Enter your exact birth time (as precise as you can; minutes matter for the Ascendant).
- Enter your birth place by searching the city list, or open the manual panel to type latitude, longitude and the UTC offset that was in force on your birth date.
- Press Calculate chart and read your placements instantly: every planet's sign and house, your Ascendant and Midheaven, and the aspect list with exact orbs.
- Tap "Copy chart for AI / LLM" to copy a clean text version, then paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any model and ask it to interpret the chart.
That's it — get your placements, copy, done. Nothing to install, no account, no email.
Let your AI do the interpretation
This is the part that makes the tool different. Instead of locking you into one website's pre-written "reading," we hand you the raw, accurate chart as text and let you take it anywhere. Paste it into your favourite large language model and ask open-ended questions — "interpret this natal chart," "what does this suggest about how I communicate," "compare my Sun and Moon" — and keep asking follow-ups. The chart is the data; the interpretation is yours. Because we never editorialize the placements, you also avoid the templated, mass-produced horoscope copy that fills most astrology pages.
Privacy: your birth data never leaves your browser
The whole calculation runs locally in your browser with a JavaScript astronomy library (an ephemeris engine, the same class of model astronomers use for planetary positions). Your birth date, exact time and place are used only on your own device to compute the chart and are never sent to or stored on any server. There is no sign-up, no email capture and no upload. Close the tab and the data is gone. Many free natal-chart sites require your full birth details and email before they show the complete chart; this one does not.

Frequently asked questions
What does this birth chart calculator actually compute, and what does it leave out?
It computes the astronomically determined part of a natal chart: the zodiac sign and house of the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, plus your Ascendant (rising sign) and Midheaven, and the major aspects between planets (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition) with the exact angular orb. These come from an ephemeris — the same kind of planetary position model astronomers use — so they are deterministic, not opinions. What it deliberately leaves out is any interpretation: we do not tell you what your Mars in Scorpio 'means' or predict your future. The chart is the data; the reading is up to you or the AI you paste it into.
Why do I need my exact birth time and place, not just the date?
Your Sun sign depends only on the date, which is why date-only horoscopes exist. But the Ascendant (rising sign) and the houses are tied to the exact moment and location of birth, because they depend on how the Earth was rotating relative to the zodiac at your latitude and longitude. The Ascendant moves through all twelve signs roughly every 24 hours — about one sign every two hours — so a difference of a couple of hours, or being born in a different city, can shift your rising sign and reshuffle which houses your planets fall in. The Moon also moves fast (about half a degree per hour), so the time matters for it too. If you do not know your exact time, the planet signs are still reliable; the houses and Ascendant should be treated as approximate.
How do I use the chart with ChatGPT or another AI?
After you generate the chart, press 'Copy chart for AI / LLM'. This copies a clean text summary of every placement — each planet's sign, degree and house, your Ascendant and Midheaven, and the aspect list — formatted so a language model can read it without ambiguity. Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any model and ask, for example, 'Interpret this natal chart' or 'What does this chart suggest about my communication style?'. Because we hand you the raw, accurate placements, you control the interpretation and can ask follow-up questions, instead of being limited to one site's canned reading.
Is my birth data stored or sent anywhere?
No. The entire calculation runs locally in your browser using a JavaScript astronomy library. Your birth date, exact time and place are used only to compute the chart on your own device and are never transmitted to or stored on any server. There is no account, no email capture and no upload. When you close the tab, the data is gone. This is a core reason the tool exists — most free natal-chart sites require you to hand over your full birth details and email before showing the full chart.
Is a birth chart accurate, and is this professional advice?
The astronomical positions this tool reports are accurate — they are computed from a precise ephemeris and reflect where the planets actually were at the moment and place you entered. Whether astrology itself can describe your personality or future is a matter of belief, not science; this tool takes no position on that and offers no predictions. The output is provided for entertainment and self-reflection only. We compute the astronomical positions; any interpretation is up to you or your AI. It is not professional, medical, psychological, financial or legal advice.
